about us

The BradySpeaks Foundation is funded solely through the efforts of generous donors to support research and study for autism and focus on helping families cope and deal with this disorder. Your donations go directly to families who have been affected by Autism and are in need of financial assistance with medical bills and expenses associated with Autism.

The BradySpeaks Foundation was inspired by Brady Case Birdwell, who has a form of autism called Sensory Integration Dysfunction. It is a very complex disorder and one that we have learned a great deal about in the past several years. Debi, Brady’s mom, has led us on a journey of learning and exploration of SID. I have watched her and Greg courageously and lovingly lead Brady to a place that is amazing. Through speech therapy, occupational therapy, hippotherapy, and many other avenues, they have sought many ways to help Brady progress and grow into the wonderful 8 year little boy (not really so little) that he is.

Just recently, there have been many things that have pushed autism into the spotlight. It is a huge part of our society today. A recent statistic says that 1 in 94 boys has autism today. There is so much that needs to be done in research and education of this mysterious disorder. It is something that has touched our family initimately and we have embraced our Brady with every family tie that binds us together. He inspires us daily.

Brady belongs to all of us. In our home, we have learned that success is measured in small things! As he began his journey through therapy his words started coming, they are precious. He can say something in the funniest way. It is pure, it is true and it is beautiful. It is unbelievable how far he has come. He has an amazing perspective of verbalizing his feelings. He has taught me so much about myself and what it means to have unconditional love. Because of this love, we have taken his words and created a collection of dishes called “BradySpeaks.” He painted the first one in 2007 with his signature line, “Let me know how it goes, I’m Out!” Please check out all the plates by clicking on “Brady Speaks Artists.” We have had lots of fun making them and hope you enjoy them too!
